The best tool out there that will contribute a lot to your total well-being is your massage chair. Buying a massage chair isn’t just as easy as going to a store and getting the first chair that you see. There are things to consider in buying a chair to eliminate the wrong ones for you and will help you to get that perfect chair that suits your needs.

Choosing a massage chair

So what I am looking for in buying my massage chair? There is no specific brand or model that is right for everyone however, there is always a right chair for every person’s needs. Prices do vary for different types of chairs but are ranged from $2,000 - $6,000. Lower priced chairs are mostly introductory chairs while the more expensive ones are top of the line chairs.

Things to keep in mind throughout your search:

Massage Strength

Adjustment to the strength of the massage is very important. It may not be suitable to have a strong massage especially on the first few months of try. We develop tolerance over time but it would be best to increase the strength gradually.

Some chairs have this removable padding. Removing the padding makes the massages a bit more firm. The removable padding comes with the chair at no additional cost.

Preset and Manual Functions

For the functionality of the chair, there are two types to choose from. First type is the preset function wherein massages are pre-programmed in to the chair. The other type is the manual function wherein user can set the chair on how to function. As for the top of the line chairs most are pre set functions and customization options. For chairs that are being shared by multiple user, it would be best to have a chair that offers both.

Accessories

Leg massages and foot massages are also important. If you want these options on your chair, there are several models to choose from. Plus, for taller users, foot massages can be flipped up and down.

Position wise is also important in choosing your massage chair especially if suffering from certain conditions. Spinal stenosis is a common condition especially when aging. For this condition, it is important to choose a chair that has a reclining option. A dual motor recline would be best at this point since dual motor chairs can do a back rest and leg rest with separate motors.

Appearance

Different types of designs to choose from on your massage chair and are made of variety of materials. For the materials used, leather chairs do sag in overtime use of rollers as they are stretched. The material that is perfect on your chair would be the synthetic leather. It will definitely retain its shape making your looking new every time. A heated chair will also do harm on your leather. It will cause your leather to dry up and crack. It is still wise to choose synthetic leather for the material of your massage chair.
